schedule a series!

ABM Neuromovement series

Personalized. Our initial session will be dedicated to assessing your current wellness and creating a personalized plan to fit your unique needs and goals. Find your way home to yourself through the power of gentle, integrative movement.

body medicine series

Holistic. Everyone has potential hiccups when on the path to whole body wellness. I’ll work closely with you to help identify your goals, create a plan that works for you, and (if needed) support your process along the way with Flower Essences, Breathwork, and Energy Medicine.

Visceral or scarwork series

Integrative. To achieve equilibrium we must do more than just find and release tension. Through the use of Visceral Manipulation and McGloughlin Scarwork, I’ll be searching for and resolving the causal issues that are at the root of your symptoms. I will also guide you (as needed) through other healthful practices such as Breathwork, Mindfullness and more.

FAQs

Do you accept my insurance?

I accept non third-party PIP insurance, only. For health insurance plans I can write a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement of part of your out of pocket costs for an office visit. NOTE: you must have a diagnosis code to include on the Superbill, and that code must come from your doctor. Ex: if you are seeking treatment for lower back pain, your doctor must write a prescription with the correct diagnosis code for your insurance to reimburse for your visits.

It is strongly recommended that you call your insurance company prior to our first session to verify benefits.

Questions to ask your insurance company when you call:

  1. Does my policy cover massage therapy? If so, which procedure codes?

  2. How many massage visits do I have each year? Is it a combined benefit with other therapies? (physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.)

  3. May I see an out of network provider for my massage treatment and if so, what is the percentage of their “cash paid at time of service” rate that you re-imburse?

what do I wear in a Neuromovement® or visceral manipulation session?

For a regular bodywork session, wear whatever you would like, as you will be undressed to your level of comfort and under a sheet and blanket for your massage. Only the body part that is being worked on will be un-draped at any time.

For Neuromovement® or Visceral Manipulation, please bring a loose fitting pair of pants or shorts and a loose t-shirt or tank top to wear during treatment. For these styles of therapy, you will be clothed and on a treatment table, so wear clothing you will be able to move in. No compressive leggings please. The best clothing to wear during treatment is the type of clothing you would wear to sleep in.

how do i know which treatment is right for me?

You will more than likely feel an intuitive draw toward one or two modalities. I am a big fan of listening to my and my client’s innate knowing…so please tell me what you are drawn to! During our intake process before our first session we will get a better read on what session type would best serve you in this moment, and then after the first session we will know the best way to schedule for you going forward.

If you have had a TBI, stroke, or have a limiting diagnosis or developmental delay, Neuromovement® is most likely the best fit for you. If you have had surgery, car accidents, pregnancies, poor postural habits, abdominal surgeries, reflux, etc. Visceral Manipulation will be a lovely addition to your treatment package. Pain patterns which surfaced after a scarring event, such as physical trauma or surgery? McGloughlin Scar Work is probably for you. I also hold the Intraoral endorsement through Washington State and, as someone with a TMJ diagnosis, I know how profound the work can be for persons with chronic jaw tension, headaches, night-grinding or past orthodontia.

what does a neuromovement® session look like?

In a one on one session, your practitioner will ask you to lie on a treatment table or sit in a chair in a position that is most comfortable to you in that moment. They will then lift and move different parts of your body, always within your level of comfort, until a release of habitual contraction is felt. When this “letting go” happens, it means that your brain has begun to wake up to new possibilities and is learning new ways to be…which leads to the release of habitual muscular contraction.

what does neuromovement® feel like?

It is experienced differently for everyone. For me, I feel a deep calm, connection, and sinking into myself during a NeuroMovement® session. I find sessions profoundly deep, on a physical, emotional and mental level. After my first session I felt a buoyancy within my ribcage that I had never previously experienced. Chronic muscle contractions that I always found I had to fight against to have “good posture” were no longer there and I felt I could stand upright without a fight, for the first time in forever.

While going through the training process and doing regular TML’s and FS lessons, I have felt an increase in my patience and a lessening in my quickness to frustration.  Some people feel joyful, some more creative and open minded, most feel a lessening in physical pain, and some may not notice any discernible change at all! In those cases, the people closest to the person receiving treatment usually notice the changes before the student does.

The reason why we group lessons into a series, called an intensive, is because after a cluster of lessons the results are more apparent and therefore better retained by the body and brain going forward. Because we are accessing the brain – through the language of the brain, which is movement – the possibilities for change are limitless.

What package is right for me?

After your intake and first session, we will have a better idea of what treatments would best serve you going forward. Adult NeuroMovement sessions may be scheduled individually for the first session only, and then after your first session you will have the option to book an “intensive” for your future treatments. This grouping of lessons (called an intensive) is done to create the most optimal environment for retention of your new skills. These hands-on lessons are a maximum of 45 minutes in length and are clustered over one or two weeks. 5-8 lessons, over 1-2 weeks is the ideal.

For all other bodywork, your booking frequency will depend on what your most primary focus of treatment is. If you are rehabilitating an injury, to facilitate the best rehabilitation outcomes, I generally recommend coming in one to two times per week for a series of weeks, then re-evaluating and gradually tapering session frequency. We can discuss this after your first session.
